Our Products

Garnet is a sandblasting mineral, derived from either Almandite or Andradite deposits. Garnet is inert natural mineral and varies from pink to reddish brown color. Garnet is a industrial gemstone that creates a profile virtually free of embedment, which makes it excellent for coating adhesion, as well as applications where low or no transfer of grit into the substrate can be tolerated. Garnet is a hard, heavy, durable abrasive. It can be recycled up to 5 times without a loss in performance. Garnet can be used for cleaning steel in various applications including ship building and repair, tanks, offshore platforms, and pipelines. It is also used to provide surface finish for powder coaters.

Garnet 80 Mesh

Good for delicate blast cleaning of items such as motor vehicles, engine components, boats (fiber glass and aluminum) glass frosting and restoring stone, timber, brick, monuments etc. Reduced air pressure advisable depending on item. Also, recommended for rapid one pass or limited recycle blast cleaning of mill scale, light rust and weathered paint coating to SA 21/2 - SA3 Specification at full air pressure.

Garnet 30/60

This is the grade most commonly preferred for general maintenance blast cleaning of painted and/or rusted steel. The size spread provides optimum bite (cleaning rate) without producing excessive profile. Profile depth normally 65 to 75 microns which is the maximum required for most industrial paints (higher profiles lead to greater paint consumption and risk of paint failure due to rogue peaks). 30/60 Mesh can be recycled several times if site conditions permit.

This coarse grade is available for removing very heavy-duty coatings/rust or where deep metal profile over 75 microns is required. Can be recycled several times. Not recommended for general maintenance blast cleaning due to excessive profile for most paints and slower ’White Metal’ cleaning rate.

This is the most coarse and durable Garnet abrasive. It is used for maintenance blasting and for cleaning the surface with heavy corrosion or surfaces with thick paint coating on it. Surface profile above 100 microns. Can be recycled several times. Used to remove thickest and most adherent coatings.
